This last weekend I attended the USANA regional convention in Vancouver, B.C.. I have never been to any event that was so packed with power speakers. How many times have we heard about them and wished we could have been there. This time I was there!!!!!

There were two Olympic athletes that gave their stories. Both Canadians.

Silken Laumann (a three time Olympic Medal Winner in Rowing) told how she was in a boating accident just 10 weeks before the last Olympic's. She was rowing away in practice, and a speed boat side swiped her. The prop cut her right leg from knee to ankle, clear to the bone. The doctors said it would be at least 3 months before she could even get out of bed and my have trouble to ever walk again. The Olympics were only 10 weeks away. By the sheer power of will, she forced herself to get up and to heal. In 3 weeks she was rowing again. In 10 weeks she was in the Olympics. She won the Bronze. What a story. It was stunning.

Her message to us:
Dream big
Embrace challenge
Love what you do
Work as a team
Balance your boat - we do best by staying present.

Jason Parker is a Canadian Speed skating Team Member. He was the world champion and the day before the Olympics he got the flu and could not compete. 4 years later it happened again. Did he give up and quit? No!!! He is still one of the world champions. He will be in Salt Lake City in 2002. Watch for him. He is not a quitter. I would place money on him. Powerful speaker too.

His message for us:
Obstacles were given to ordinary people to help make them extraordinary
Work harder on your self than any other part of your life

Dr. Dennis Waitley gave one of the best goal setting presentations I have ever heard. It is almost as good as mine ha ha ha... In as much as he is one of my mentors, I am not surprised our thinking is so much alike. But he presented something new that I had not heard before in his talks. Most goal setting speakers tell you that you have to have 3 things in a goal:

Present tense
Positive wording
Personal to you

We have talked about that many times before in our newsletters.
In his presentation he this time added three new ones

Precise
Possible
Powerful

His main message to us:
Make the next 90 days of your life your "WINNING SEASON"

What a concept! Winning Season. Why not?

Then came the SHOW STOPPER. Jamie Clarke. Mountain Climber. World explorer. I could not describe to you in words the power of his message. It was almost like being there to see his pictures and listen to his breath taking description for us of the three attempts that the Canadian team made to climb Mt. Everest. The first two times they failed and almost lost their lives. The third time they all 4 made it to the top. You would have to have been there to have captured the power of the insights he presented as a part of the story and the beauty of the pictures he took.

His main message for us:
"ABOVE ALL ELSE"
We all have Mt. Everest's in our life. The mountain is always there. We are not climbing the mountain, we are overcoming our fears. Only those who have the courage make it all the way to the top, both at on Everest and in life.

It was such a powerful presentation that the audience gave him an almost 5 minute standing ovation. They would not stop until he finally left the room so they would stop. If you ever have opportunity to hear him speak, I highly recommend it. You will be side sick from laughing and stunned with emotional and tears from his deep insights.

Now to use all that information to help some of you become millionaires. That is my Everest.... and I will make it all the way to the top with at least 5 of you in the next 3 years, one step at a time.
